Klaudia Klonowska is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Sciences Po Paris and Managing Director of the West Point Manual on Artificial Intelligence. Her PhD thesis titled "Techno-Legal Tinkering: AI Decision-Support Systems, Human-Machine Interaction, and International Humanitarian Law” was completed at the Asser Institute and the University of Amsterdam. As part of her PhD, she conducted empirical research with the Dutch and American military personnel, lawyers, and engineers and gained insights into the challenges of implementing AI into military targeting operations. Her research contributed to an interdisciplinary project Designing International Law and Ethics into Military Artificial Intelligence (DILEMA) founded by the Dutch Research Council (NWO). Klaudia holds a Master’s in International Law and Technology from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and a Bachelors in Liberal Arts and Society from the Amsterdam University College.
